The official inaugural launch of the Nigeria Wind Energy Council (NWEC) in October 2024 was a resounding success, bringing together stakeholders from the public and private sectors, development partners, donors, wind power project developers, and government representatives. Together, we shared a unified vision of expanding wind energy in Nigeria.

The event was highly informative, featuring keynote speeches, presentations on global wind energy trends and best practices, the role of climate data in optimizing wind energy projects, and the potential of wind energy for off-grid and decentralized power solutions. We also hosted panel discussions on topics such as wind energy policy and economics in Nigeria, as well as building capacity for wind energy in the country, among others.

We extend our sincere appreciation to all our esteemed guests. Your presence was invaluable, and we are excited about the collaborative work ahead as we champion wind power as a critical element of Nigeria’s clean energy transition.
