Global Wind Power Hits New Heights in 2024
According to the GWEC Global Wind Report 2025, the wind industry added a record-breaking 117 GW of new capacity in 2024, with 138 GW forecasted for 2025, the highest ever.
However, to stay on track for Net Zero by 2050, annual installations must grow by 164 GW annually between 2025 and 2030. The momentum is strong, but the challenges, from permitting delays and grid bottlenecks to geopolitical trade barriers, require coordinated global action.
Proudly, Nigeria is stepping up!
Through the work of the Nigerian Wind Energy Council (NWEC), supported by The Nextier Group, the country is laying the foundation for wind energy adoption through research, partnerships, capacity building, and pilot site development.
Let’s accelerate the transition.
Let’s invest in renewables.
Let’s power the future.
