Impact of ACF Grant 163
The ACF Grant 163 has played a crucial role in advancing wind energy initiatives, significantly strengthening our project’s momentum, capacity, and outreach efforts across Nigeria.
Exploring Pipeline Opportunities
NWEC is collaborating with the European Union (EU), African Climate Foundation (ACF), Rural Electrification Agency of Nigeria (REA), and others to secure additional funding and technical support for future wind energy projects.
Private Sector Engagement
We continue to engage private sector leaders such as Vestas, Oando Clean Energy, Nextier Power, Ryse Energy, and others to foster partnerships that enhance innovation, investment, and large-scale wind energy development in Nigeria.

2025: Collaborating with the Department of Climate Change, Federal Ministry of Environment, on the Youth for Wind and Climate Innovation (YWCI)
2025: Federal Ministry of Power and the European Union on a National Wind Energy Action Plan and Roadmap
2025: Finalizing a Memorandum of Understanding with the Rural Electrification Agency to support wind energy initiatives.
2025: Engaging with partners, including NASENI, NiMet, the Ministry of Power, Vestas, and various universities, to expand wind energy initiatives
2024: Legally registered and awarded our initial grant by the Africa Climate Foundation.
2024 - An MoU was signed with the Energy Commission of Nigeria (ECN) and Niger State to facilitate collaboration on renewable energy projects and policy support
